6 The Primary in Ohio Ohio has a closed primary (but, unaffiliated can vote) –c–closed vs. open primary takes place in May 17-year-olds can vote for candidates if 18 by the general election

7 Elections precinct- a voting district polling place- the place where the voters who live in a precinct actually vote (located somewhere in or near the precinct) – generally open from 7/8am-7/8pm – poll watchers from each party are present to observe the election
