Plants like all living creatures need water to survive Water is a basic for all plant life

Underwater Plants Location: seas, oceans. Land Plants Location: garden, rainforest, forest, desert, mountains Water Plants Location: ponds, lakes, rivers All plants need water Some plants need more water than others

5 Desert Plants Adaptation
Desert plants have adapted to the extremes of heat with little amount of water They often have few or no leaves, which reduces transpiration. Cacti usually have special means of storing and conserving water. Some plants like desert irises have adapted to arid environments by growing extremely long roots, allowing them to acquire moisture at or near the water table.

6 Mountain Plants Adaptation
Labrador tea The mountain environment is very harsh for plant to grow in. They have a wide rot system in order to gather more water. The flowers usually have very tough leaves and are waxy to prevent drying out. The fuzzy underside of Labrador tea combs water droplets from clouds and acts like a sponge to keep the leaf surface moist.  Mountain cranberry demonstrates another adaptation: a waxy cuticle that covers leaf surfaces and seals in moisture.
