2 2 MLC Summary Membership ~400 members 15+ industries: health care & manufacturing are top two Full spectrum of lean expertise Our membership reaches from Detroit to Holland to the UP Summary Originated in 2008 Non-profit 501c(6) Original impetus was to make MI the best place in the country to live, learn and earn We firmly believe if every MI organization used lean principles, the economy would turnaround Volunteer board of directors (annual vote) Monthly events and annual conference Lt. Governor Brian Calley Detroit Mayor Dave Bing Former Governor Jennifer Granholm 2 Vision All public, private and educational organizations in Michigan are at the benchmark level of efficiency and competitiveness. Mission Offer diverse educational programs and workshops on lean topics that promote sharing of innovative practices, networking and fostering a sustainable advantage for Michigan’s public, private and educational organizations. Goals To have a significant impact on Michigan public, private and educational organizations and their employees, students, educators, customers and clients that results in: -Increased knowledge of lean practices and principles-Improved safety -Improved service-Improved quality -Improvement in MI’s dashboard-More jobs
