4 7.2- MODERN WARFARE You will create ten tweets (like on Twitter) from the trenches in World War I. Put yourself in the shoes of a young solider camped out in a trench on the Western front. Each tweet must be a minimum of 100 characters and is limited to a maximum of 140 characters. Create on tweet for each question (tell what’s going on) 1. Who are you fighting for? 2. Why did you decide to fight for your nation? 3. Was fighting in the war what you expected? 4. Are you able to effectively fight against your enemy? Why or why not? 5. What have you seen, heard, and smelled in the trenches? 6. What do you know about the enemy? 7. What are your goals if you make it out alive? 8. How are you passing the time? 9. What would you like to tell your family or the citizens of the nation that you are fighting for? 10. What do you want to say to people back home?

Holocaust Multimedia Presentation (include all things listed) 1. create a title 2. five photographs dealing with the causes, events, and effects of the Holocaust 3. two sentence explanation for each photograph 4. a one-paragraph summary that explains the impact or effects of the Holocaust on the Jewish population 5. a two sentence ‘call to action’ that explains what we can do in the world to prevent future genocides

Step 1: Determine Your Position (agree or disagree) Step 2: Writing Your Persuasive Response Make sure your response includes: a minimum of two paragraphs a thesis (position or stance) on whether World War II was a continuation of World War I or not supportive details from both World War I and World War II to defend your thesis a comparison of the causes, course, and consequences of World War I and World War II
