2 Manifest Destiny  The idea that the U.S. should stretch from ocean to ocean. They moved to California for the gold

3 American Progress  The American Progress was a painting made by John Cast, the reason this painting was made was to show that it was the angel’s destiny to help the people move west and move Native Americans and animals.
