2 An update… Our Pre OFSTED and ROM meetings confirmed that we had all our policies and procedures in place to open for September and begin our journey in providing an outstanding education for your children All schemes of work are in place for September and the timetable organised The building was signed over to us on Friday Buiding works almost complete – final snagging list being completed this week After a very busy few months, the building is looking amazing, we are absolutely delighted with it, all we need now is your children! Outdoor works will continue for the next two weeks – you will already see part of the ‘surprise’ being erected in our Reception outdoor classroom! Our teaching staff have started plus our Business Manager… feel free to pop in and see any of them if there are any concerns or questions whatsoever

3 Tel: 0845 459 0113 Our latest addition to our school team… Danielle Shepherd Our Cook in Charge Danielle has enjoyed catering for children from Nursery up to age 11 for the last five years. During this time she has provided meals for children with a variety of dietary requirements and allergies. She has also done cookery with children of various ages and abilities. Danielle was appointed due to her catering skills but also due to her passion to join our brand new school and be part of the team at Rugby Free school. She is very much looking forward to meeting the children and to the exciting new challenge that comes with this role. She is already thinking about her first themed event!

5 Tel: 0845 459 0113 Enrichment Provision is in place… Danielle McKenna will be leading both our breakfast club and after school clubs. These will begin on Friday 18 th September which is the first day that the children are in full time. Letters will be sent out next Wednesday for you to book your preferences. We will ask that payment is made by the Friday before the week of the care. We are happy for you to make decisions on care needs on a weekly basis with the exception of after school clubs where we will ask for a commitment for half a term and payment up front for this please as the places are very limited. Breakfast Club 7.30am – 8.45am. After School Clubs 3.20 – 4.30pm Care Club 4.30pm – 6pm After School Clubs: Monday: Archery & Spanish Tuesday: Mini Movers & Wild Survival Wednesday: Jungle Arts and Crafts & Cheerleading Thursday: Superhero Sports & Wonderful World Crafts Friday: Football & Massive Makers

6 Tel: 0845 459 0113 Practicalities for starting school… Welcome picnic will be on 8 th September – parents to stay with the children, this will involve us all eating together, us looking round the school and then showing the children where their coat peg, class area etc. will be for the following morning. No need to wear school uniform. Phased integration from 9 th September – full school uniform please and please make sure this is all named All children will be provided with a free school meal, this will begin on 15 th September Children will need with them: -A water bottle named and filled each day please -Their P.E. bag including both an indoor and outdoor P.E. kit please -Their school bag with their reading book in (once they have one), any homework plus spare underwear just in case please! -Medication – school must be notified beforehand of this to ensure we can provide the necessary support, this should not be just sent in bags please

7 Drop off and pick up… We have a turning circle for parents should you choose to come by car, however we would encourage as many of you as possible to walk or cycle to school, we have a cycle rack available for anybody who wishes to use it however please ensure all bicycles are locked Children should be dropped off and collected from the Reception fire exit door We would encourage parents to bring them into the cloakroom and help them hang up their coats and put their bags on the shelf then say goodbye to them as they go into their classroom Initially, the children can be collected from the same door, we may review this once the outdoor area is complete!
