4. INE’s 5-year PLAN Key element of 5-year plan: Establishment of an integrated system of Household surveys. Design of system began in 1999 after broad consultation Workshop of stakeholders concluded CWIQ core element of HHS program Annual CWIQ with different modules

THE CWIQ PILOT Pilot in Feb-April 2000 with 1000 household in both urban and rural areas Conducted workshop to review results with users – deemed satisfactory overall Recommended changes in questionnaire for national survey to reflect Unemployment Impact of floods Maternal and child health => Changed questionnaire from 8 to 12 pages

Selected survey design: National sample of 14,500 households in 675 Enumeration Areas (EAs) Provide national level estimates Provincial rural and urban level estimates in 11 provinces Selected and Trained field supervisors and enumerators (2 weeks) Fieldwork commenced October 30 for six weeks.
