4 What are the Graduation Requirements? One diploma type - 23 units required to graduate from FCHS 4 units English 4 units Science 4 units Math 3 units Social Studies 3 units Career Tech and/or Foreign Language and/or Fine Arts courses 1 unit Health & Fitness 4 units additional electives

5 What about foreign language? NOT required. HOWEVER, students who plan to attend a 4-year college are encouraged to take 2 years of foreign language to be accepted at the college. Students planning to attend a University Systems of Georgia institution must take two units of the same foreign language.

6 EOCTs and Writing Graduation Test End-of-Course Tests (EOCTs) - 20% final grade* *Students MUST pass these courses to graduate.  English: 9th Gr. English & American Literature  Math: Coordinate Algebra and Analytic Geometry  Science: Biology & Physical Science  Social Studies: U.S. History & Economics Georgia High School Graduation Tests - WRITING - 11th grade

7 New HOPE Scholarship Requirements Class of 2018 must have 4 additional classes of rigor Classes that meet the HOPE rigor requirements: Adv. AlgebraChemistry IFrench II AP ClassesPhysics ISpanish II Forensic ScienceAnatomy & Physiology Dual Enrollment Classes

8 Bell Schedule/Attendance Policy Maximum of 5 unexcused absences per class per semester. 10 Progress Reports Grades are released as follows: –3 weeks - Deficiency Report (Failing students only) –5 weeks - Progress Report –10 weeks - Progress Report –16 weeks - Report Card Exact dates will be published in Student Handbook. Expect to see these reports and ask your child for them! Check your student’s grades all semester long at any point through Infinite Campus.
