3 Skeletal System: Provides shape and support Protects organs Produces blood cells (bones) Protects and supports the body

4 Muscular System: Allows for movement Protects the bones

5 Circulatory System Carries needed materials to cells (like oxygen and nutrients) Carries waste products away from cells (like carbon dioxide) Carries cells that fights diseases Arteries: carries blood away from the heart to the body Veins: carries blood back to the heart Remember in the “Can you feel the beat?” lab: – the more difficult the activity got, the higher your pulse rate was

6 Excretory System Collects and removes waste from the body Maintains water and salt balance in the blood Remember in the “flush those toxins” – The “Filter paper”= kidneys – The “Yellow water” = urine – The “Sand” = toxins in blood – The “Beaker” = bladder

7 Integumentary System The epidermis prevents germs from entering the body Protects body from injury and infection and prevents water loss Produces vitamin D Regulates body temperature
