1. The NJHS food drive is in full swing. That’s right! It’s like the one we did last year where the D building competes against the staff and the other classes compete against their grade level.

2. Oh that was fun. (comment about how last year). Let’s remind everyone what they should bring in. Good idea. Kindergarten is collecting Canned Tomato Sauce. First grade is bringing in Canned Tomato Paste

3. 2 nd graders donate canned tomatoes In the C Building 3 rd graders are in charge of Pasta Rice is coming in from 4 th grade And 5 th grade is bringing dried or canned Beans And here’s what the D building needs to bring in to beat the Staff: 6 th graders have canned Fruits & Veggies 7 th graders should gather cereal & Powered Milk

4. And Canned Tuna, Salmon, Chicken, or Spam from 8 th graders So, what’s the staff bringing in? Staff has to contribute peanut butter AND jelly. Wait…who is considered anthem school staff?

5. That would be our teachers, administration, maintenance and cafeteria teams. That’s cool. We’re so going to beat my teachers. I hope so! You do know that the food drive is won by highest participation, not items right?

6. Yep. That’s why I’m encouraging all my friends to bring in our grade’sitem. Did you know that the class with the highest participation will receive the service staff and a shout out on galaxy news?

7. That’s cool! But…what happens if the staff wins? Then representatives from 6 th, 7 th and 8 th grade will have to concede or surrender to Mrs. Rotes on Galaxy News. But what about when we win? Then Mrs. Rotes will surrender to us.

8. Oh! It’s cool we get to compete and help people in need! You’re right. Rockets, please help the foothills food bank by bringing in your items You can bring items in now until October 20 th. That gives us days. I hope we bring in more food to give to Foothills Food Bank than last year. Me too! It would be a great way to see much Anthem School cares & helps people in need.
