The Life After High School Program 2 web-based, facilitated workshops for ALL Grade 12 students –First workshop two periods; second is 60-70 minutes –held during regular class time –in school classrooms equipped with SRDC-supplied laptops for each student –Internet access provided through SRDC-supplied wi-fi hubs –led by SRDC facilitators Practical assistance preparing and submitting real applications to OUAC or OCAS, and to OSAP Payment of OCAS or OUAC application fees

5. Workshop 1: November 5 th, 2013 8:45 – 11:35 am All students must be in attendance to have their fees paid! Introduce program and create LAHS student accounts Students browse PSE programs and calculate financial aid eligibility; map out a budget Prepare and submit real OCAS or OUAC applications Application fees paid

6. Workshop 2: April - May 2014  Prepare OSAP applications  Led by SRDC facilitators

7. What other benefits are there? Everyone in Grade 12 is involved Everyone can find a program –a wide range of programs – upgrading, certificate & apprenticeship programs included, some without a HS diploma Provides hands-on, practical support –Students submit real on-line applications –OUAC/OCAS application fees are paid immediately –provides tools to prepare an OSAP application

Potential benefits of Life After High School For students who intend to go on to PSE: –provides follow-through support with applications For students who apply to PSE: –application fees are paid by LAHS For students who haven’t yet decided on a program or school: –provides information to help with decision-making For students who aren’t sure if they want to go to PSE: –could be persuaded to do so by the arrival of an acceptance letter For students who haven’t considered PSE: –will have gained practical knowledge and skills about the application process that may benefit them later on

10. What happens if I don’t know what I am applying for on November 5 th ? Don’t worry… you will still have time to apply and have fees paid!

11. It doesn’t hurt to learn more about PSE, apply, and keep your options open! Let’s try to have 100% of our grade 12 students apply! Let’s make history at St. T’s!
