7 Apprenticeship Training Apprenticeship is a form of post-secondary education in which:  you earn while you learn  90% of the learning takes place on the job  10 % of the learning will take place in school Apprenticeship Timeline |---- 2 to 5 years | In school

19 Make sure you check Grade Range and Program Prerequisites. Click on ‘Program Website’ to find out more information about the specific program.

20 Averages for University  Based on 6 grade 12 U or M level courses  Prerequisite courses are included  Some programs have minimum marks for certain subjects i.e. 70%-75% in ENG4U or MHF4U  Every university calculates averages differently  Repeated courses may be treated differently  Conditional offers will state averages that you must maintain

22 Collaborative (Joint) University - College Programs  Collaborative programs offer the combination of hands-on learning and theoretical approach.  Students may earn either one or two credentials— one from the college and/or one from the university.

23 Collaborative (Joint) University - College Programs  Admission requirements are the same as universities  Admission requirements are the same as universities (Based on 6 grade 12 U or M level courses)  Check to see which application centre to apply to for these programs (OUAC, OCAS or both)

37 University Application Fees  $140 for 3 program choices (All fees are non- refundable)  For each university/program choice in addition to your initial three, it will cost $47 per choice (All payments must be in Canadian Funds)  Maximum of three program choices at any one university  Payment methods include credit card and online banking.  Check your OUAC account and email regularly; this is how the universities will communicate with you.

62 Important Dates for University  January 14, 2015 – Last day to apply online  February 3, 2015 - Recommended last date for students to make changes as well as adding new program choices  May 28, 2015 – The latest date applicants can expect a response from an Ontario university.  June 1, 2015 – Earliest date that Ontario universities may require a response to an offer of admission and a financial commitment of any kind.
