3 Objectives –To outline the practice of racism and to describe various forms of resistance to racism. –To provide an analysis of identity, specifically ethnic identity, and its emergence in the late twentieth century as a basis of politics. –To indicate some of the traditional and emerging sociological approaches to issues of racism and ethnicity.
