Besides online work, the teachers are developing and implementing in class lessons for when students are in the classroom and need support or acceleration of a subject. Edgenuity will be our main provider for core curriculum this year Odysseyware will be used for some subjects, electives and other curriculum needs Curriculum for Student Success

Student Success Each Segment equals 3 weeks / 15 days Each Segment equals 3 weeks / 15 days

We have a variety of student types on our campus ~ Very Shy High Anxiety Asperger’s students High Achievers who are frustrated with “drama” at typical high school Desire for time to work in the community Students needed to work with and help with family obligations Religious commitments Those liking small environment learning and more interaction with material Students wanting specific teacher attention Student type

Needs for Student Success Attendance ~ Attending as scheduled and working at HOME every day Working with the teachers in classroom environment Strong Work Ethic ~ Individual motivation Staying on task Asking for help when needed Online Curriculum Parent Accounts ~ Progress Reports ~ Clearly communicated progress is given throughout the each segment for parents to see current progress Relationships~ Creating student/staff relationships that make a strong learning environment

Daily Model3 days a week1 day a week Monday – Thursday ~ 1 hour Monday, Weds and Friday ~ 2 hours Tuesday OR Thursday ~ 2 hours [3 hours] 11:00-12:0011:00-1:00 12:00-1:00 1 hr weekly of Skype/ Facetime per teacher required Attendance Options Students have the ability to choose the attendance model that is good for them and their work. We are an independent study program, which means students are required to work outside of the school day/physical classroom to complete all course requirements. Regardless of the model chosen by the student, there will be significant amounts of work that must be done outside of the classroom meeting times. If a student’s selects a specific attendance model, but they are not meeting their appointment/classroom meeting times and/or not completing their course work, their attendance model and placement at Rivercrest will be evaluated and they could be required to return to their home school.

Parent Support of Rivercrest Preparatory “This is no exaggeration, we have experienced everything from public, private, to home school, an aviation academy and honestly Rivercrest has been the best on every level. The organization with everything is amazing. Which is awesome considering this is the first year. But the staff that has been selected for this school is the best!! It’s such a relief for a parent to have peace of mind knowing that our girls are very well taken care of. Also because we have had traumatic incidents that left them all traumatized and this school is helping them past that.”
