2 1- Use The future tense is used to describe something that is going to happen or will / shall happen later on. 4 Verb TO BE (Present simple) + GOING TO +VERB Affirmative: I am going to play chess Negative: I am not going to play chess Interrogative Am I going to play chess? Affirmative: He is going to eat a hamburger Negative: He is not going to eat a hamburger Interrogative Is he going to eat a hamburger?

6 2-2- The future tense with Present continuous Sometimes we use the present continuous to describe future plans that are already confirmed. My cousin is arriving at 7 p.m. I’m going to the zoo tomorrow. In both cases we can also use going to: My cousin is going to arrive at 7 p.m. I’m going to the zoo tomorrow.
