4 Existing Publications International Journal of Management Education – peer reviewed BMAF Magazine from 2007 Grant reports online Workshop session materials online Involved in Escalate/LLAS focus groups How to bring it together? – build on the Enhancing success

5 Collaboration BMAF and HLST agreed funding for 3 additionalEnhancing books (approx £6k each book) International Learning Experience title chosen rather than Internationalisation Editors identified for this and Student Centred Learning book (Assessment to follow) Case study material sought, approx. 10 from each area

6 Obtaining Abstracts HLST: mainly ask known friends BMAF: Progressive invitation –Current and past small grant holders –Conference presenters –Internationalisation SIG members –Workshop and Key Contact events –Open website call

7 Process and Timeline (simplistic version!) Agree Title, Editors and Timescale Content Research and invite potential contributors Review Abstracts and confirm (or not) Review and edit case studies Initial text to printers Introduction written Edit and update proofs Sign off final proofs and wait! Publication Obtain quotes for printing Agree contract and timescales Agree text style, size, layout, colour Review who does what and timing Prepare initial proofs Prepare final proofs Printed Publication delivered Dissemination Website information Magazine Flyers Press Release Reviews sought Plan distribution rules Distribute Book Launched Dec 07 Jan 08 Apr 08 Mar 08 Jun 08 Jul 08 Sep 08 Nov 08

8 Benefits? A physical output – although also online Extended dissemination of small grants Generated both ideas and discussion Stimulated involvement in other activities Increased BMAF mailing list Widened awareness, e.g. other SCs, SEDA Useful gift when visiting in UK or overseas Encouraged cases for other books

9 Personal Outcomes Writer: I never thought I would see my name in print in this way. It has raised my profile here and also provided novel Christmas presents for the family! Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this project and share what worked and what didnt. The other cases have given me so many ideas too. Reader: This was really thought-provoking – as I read it I reflected Do I do that? Can I do that? Why dont I at least try that? I am amazed by the range covered and particularly by the honesty. We have all hit the buffers with a project but real learning is shown here from why things did not work.
