4 a. Giovanna Verrazano b. Ferdinand Magellan c. Jacques Cartier d. Henry Hudson Explorer #1 Clue: I sailed for Portugal. Some say that my voyage was a failure, because I died before it was over, but I am given credit for sailing around the world and proving that it was round.

5 a. Samuel de Champlain b. Amerigo Verespucci c. Ferdinand Megellan d. Henry Hudson Explorer #2 Clue: Even though I wasn’t a well-known explorer, my name is famous because the “New World” was named after me.

6 a. Giovanni da Verrazano b. Ferdinand Magellan c. Christopher Columbus d. Henry Hudson Explorer #3 Clue: I was looking for the Northwest Passage, but ended up exploring many areas of New York State. I even have several bodies of water ( a lake, a river and a strait) named after me.

Samuel de Champlain Explorer #6 Clue: I was a French explorer who was looking for the Northwest Passage I didn’t find it, but I did explore the St. Lawrence River. I also found fur, fish and other products that I took back to France.
