Example of Stanzas My Dog Ate My Essay My doggy ate my essay, he picked up all my mail. He cleaned my dirty closet and dusted with his tail. He straightened out my posters and swept my wooden floor. My parents almost fainted when he fixed my bedroom door. I did not try to stop him. He made my windows shine. My room looked like a palace. My jackets smelled like pine. Copyright © 2005 Darren Sardelli All Rights Reserved

Couplet Two lines and ending words in poetry that rhyme Example: School is so fun I’m sad when it is done

Identify this rhyme scheme I hear your heart beat To the beat of the drum Oh what a shame That you came here with someone

Identify this rhyme scheme In west Philadelphia born and raised On the playground where I spent most of my days Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys, they were up to no good Started making trouble in my neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"

Identify this rhyme scheme Settle down, it'll all be clear Don't pay no mind to the demons They fill you with fear The trouble it might drag you down If you get lost, you can always be found Just know you’re not alone Cause I’m going to make this place your home
