7. What is a RHYME?  A rhyme is when two words have the same ending sounds. Like: ball call fall mall

8. Think About This: Do all rhymes end in the same letters?

9. No! Not all rhymes have to end with the same letters. For example: gray weigh

11. STOP HOP POP All these words end in the same letters and have the same ending sound Rhymes can be found within the same sentence like with “hop” and “Pop”

13. CERTAIN JERTAIN CURTAIN Wait a minute! Jertain is not a real word! Dr. Seuss uses what he knows about rhyming and sometimes makes up his own words. Even though it is not real, these words all have the same ending sounds so they do in fact rhyme.
