1. Welcome to Excel Parent Night

2. Excel Program The Excel Program provides after school care to children through quality childhood education while providing enrichment, homework help, and tutoring; and equipping children with skills for social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.

3. Independent Business The Excel Program is an independent business. Although it is operated at Valley View Elementary School, it is owned and operated privately by Valley View teachers. Valley View Administration is not responsible or accountable for any Excel Program issues. If you have ANY problems, questions, or issues PLEASE direct them to the Excel Directors- Andrea White and Shannon Browning.

4. Hours of Operations Excel begins when school dismisses –PreK students will stay with the PreK teachers in the intermediate building –K-2 nd will be dismissed to the cafeteria where staff will be waiting –3 rd -6 th grades will bus to elementary on Valley View School Bus Students MUST be picked up by 6:00 –A charge will be added for late pickup.

7. Snack Students will be offered snacks from at least two different food groups each day.

8. Inclement Weather If Valley View Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Excel Program will also be closed. If schools open “late”, the Excel Program will operate. If school is in session (but dismissed early due to weather), it is the parent’s responsibility to pick their children up from school at early dismissal time. The Excel Program will not operate after early dismissal due to inclement weather.

9. We will offer childcare on In- service days, Christmas Break and Spring Break. $20 a day for current students. $25 for nonenrolled students

Pickup Procedure Parents must sign students out If someone other than designated people are picking up, we MUST have a note Students may be signed-out in the gym or on the playground after 5:00 Do not pick-up through main doors by office A staff member will be stationed in the gym lobby if picking up students before 5:00 Students may be signed in or out at any time Students MUST be picked up by 6:00- Fees will be assessed to account for late pick-up

11. Tuition All fees for the program are due on the first school day of the current week or monthly on the first of each month. Your check should note the week or time period being paid. Get a receipt when paying with cash Fees will be collected in the kiosk located by the gym. Make checks payable to Excel Program. Automatic bank draft payment is accepted. **Accounts will be prorated for weeks with less than 5 school days.

13. Tuition should not be given to teachers, left in backpacks, or in the rooms. Credit will not be given for any absence from Excel. No credit will be issued for closure due to inclement weather. You are obligated to pay for all the days your child is registered to attend each month regardless of whether or not your child attends. Tuition

14. Late Pickup Fees Any child picked up after the ending time of the program will be charged a late pickup fee. It is $10 for every 15 minute period beginning at 6:01. This fee is due with the following week’s tuition. Return Check Policy Any checks returned for insufficient funds will be assessed a $25.00 additional fee. Late Fee Charges A $10 late fee will be added to tuition not paid by Friday at 6:00 p.m. of the current week. These fees are due with payment that week. Any fee becoming 10 days delinquent will necessitate removal of the child/children from the program.

15. Medication Excel Program staff members do not administer any medication to the students (with the exception of Tylenol if permission is given on medical forms). Students may not carry their own or other medication to the program. Students are permitted to store an inhaler for asthma or an Epi-Pen at the site provided the inhaler and/or Epi-Pen is in its original box with instructions and a prescription label.

17. Notification of withdrawal must be given in writing two weeks in advance. If notification is not given tuition will continue to be charged for the two- week period. Withdrawal Procedure
