The magazine market is very crowded with lots of magazines each having their own genre to aim at a very niche audience. It is difficult to produce a magazine that ticks all the boxes and would appeal to a wide enough audience to sell well. The idea I will be outlining in the next few slides is the music magazine I want to create and the genre and target audience for it.

My magazine has a genre of indie rock and will include bands that fall under this genre such as the Arctic Monkeys and The Courteeners. These bands and the genre were selected as popular within my survey that was aimed at my target audience of teenagers to young adults.

Font: Eroded The name for my magazine is taken as it is popular slang used by my target audience but is also related to music as music is all based around sound. The font looks retro and fits in with an indie/britpop for bands such as The Courteeners, Arctic Monkeys and the Britpop element being Oasis.

 This magazine will be published every 2 weeks in order to produce a reasonably regular edition that keeps my readers well informed and also entertains and interests them.  The magazine will be priced at £2.50 in order to make it affordable for my audience as they will mostly be part time workers and will therefore have a lower income.

Jack is 19 years old and lives in York. He enjoys listening to music when travelling to college (which he attends as well as working part time behind a bar in a local club) and also at home. His hobbies are socialising with his friends and also playing football on a weekend for his local team. He often spends his time on social media on sites such as Facebook and Twitter but also uses sport and betting apps. His typical outfit includes Adidas originals trainers and a Fred Perry jumper. He often goes to gigs and annually attends Leeds festival and his favourite music artists are Oasis, The Courteeners and Arctic Monkeys. He also spends time online on his games console which is an Xbox One. He has around £3 to spend fortnightly on a music magazine. The Reader Profile

 The magazine will include giveaways of tickets to gigs as well as to festivals. Popular bands tour dates will be provided to keep my audience informed  A key feature of my magazine will be interviews with popular bands. This attracts my target audience as these bands appeal to them and it makes them feel closer to their favourite artists.  Lots of images will be used throughout my magazine, especially those that capture emotion with the artist and allow the audience to feel that they have a closer relation ship with them: Main Image: Medium Close Up: Extreme Close Up:

 House Style- Red Black White I have chosen these colours as they are associated with popular music magazines within the market such as NME which has the same genre (indie rock) as my magazine.  Masthead- Black White Green I have chosen these colours because the first two fit in with the house styles and the green adds a tinge of brightness.  Cover Lines- Blue White Black I have chosen these colours as the blue allows the cover lines to stand out from the house colours. The black and white then match with the blue.
