4 WHS LACROSSE BOOSTER CLUB BOARD MEMBERS  Chuck Chmielewski: President  Brent Lervick: Vice President  Sue Rolfing: Secretary & Volunteer Coordinator  Off Season Coordinator: John Walsh  Karen Miller: Webmaster/Communications  Treasurer: Position available!  Videographer: Position available!  Equipment Manager: Position available!  All parents are Booster Club members, please get involved!  SEE ALL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES on royalslacrosse.comroyalslacrosse.com  Booster Club deals with ~$30000 in expenses/revenue for the season.

5 VOLUNTEERS  Parent volunteers are vital to program success!  Game Day Volunteers [score table, videographer, concessions, ticket booth, etc]  Fundraising Coordinators  Special Events Coordinators [Senior Night, Banquet, Tournaments, Team Dinners, etc]  The list goes on, we can never have enough help!

6 FUNDRAISING  Pancake Breakfast: Potential $1000 to raise  Candy Bar Sale: Potential $1000 to raise  Grocery Bagging at Kowalski’s: Pending  WHS Basketball Tournament: Jan 31 – Feb 2nd  Full participation by players with support from families and coaches is crucial for our program and helps to offset expenses.

7 COMMUNITY OUTREACH  Campus Cleanup Day: All players, managers and coaches will participate. Spring 14 - TBD  Youth Clinics: We will be organizing another low-cost youth clinic for after try-outs.

8 TRYOUTS  Tryout dates: March 31 st through April 2nd, 2014  Location: WHS Stadium  Time: 5:30 – 7:30pm  Alternate location: Eagan Dome – Busing will be available.  All times and locations will be available on our website.  Reminder that registrations have to be completed before any player can participate!  8 th graders are eligible to try out.

9 TRYOUTS  All players are expected to have their own equipment [helmets, mouth guards, sticks, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, cleats, etc]  Helmets [cobalt blue] can be purchased at a discount from the team [limited supply left]. Contact Chuck for more information.  Players will be evaluated based on stick skills [catching, throwing, shooting, feeding, etc], athletic ability [speed, endurance], field awareness, character, effort and other intangibles.  All players will be given a fair opportunity to make teams.

10 TEAMS  Varsity: 18-22 players  Junior Varsity: 18-22 players  Prep (9/10): 16-20 players  Final number of registered athletes will help determine roster sizes.  No cuts will be made, a player will have a team to play on!  Player movement: We do our best to place players at tryouts, mistakes are sometimes made and players will evolve throughout the season.

11 PLAYER EXPECTATIONS  Follow MSHSL and Woodbury High School rules prohibiting the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco for the entire year.  Maintain good academic standing, 2.0 GPA or better.  Be respectful of others.  Be on time for everything.  Be responsible and accountable.  Represent “Class”.  Be “Team Conscious”.  Put Woodbury Lacrosse right behind your school, family, and religious commitments in your ranked priorities.  Failure to follow these expectations will result in loss of playing time or potentially dismissal from the team.  Players will sign a contract agreeing to these terms after tryouts.

12 RIGHTS OF THE PARENTS  To know the guidelines expected of your son as a member of the team.  To know the process used to select players for the teams.  To attend your son’s games and practices without distracting the process, just as you can attend classes at WHS.  To discuss personal, social and educational issues regarding your son with the coaches at any time.  To know the chain of communication to discuss other issues. [son, coach, activities director, principal]

13 RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARENTS  To provide a positive home and social environment.  To deal properly with injuries.  To balance family commitments with your son’s team commitments.  To support the Royals Lacrosse Booster Club Activities.  To know the guidelines expected of your son as a member of the team.  To develop a healthy relationship between you and the team.  To discuss personal, social, and educational issues that may affect the way the coaching staff works with your son.  To communicate with the coaching staff in a constructive manner.  To learn the rules and basics of lacrosse, it will make the game that much more enjoyable to watch!

14 KEY DATES - WINTER  Player Pack Order #1 – Due January 31st  Winter Clinics: Thursdays at the Vadnais Dome  Weight Training/Conditioning – Mon, Wed, Fri 3:15 at the WHS weight room.  Homegrown Lacrosse HS Winter League: Sundays - January through March - Concordia/Augsburg dome

16 KEY DATES – MSHSL SEASON  March 31st: First day of tryouts and Booster Club fees due.  April 3rd: First day of practice  April 4 th : Player Pack order #2 is due.  April 5 th : JV/Prep Minnesota Meltdown Tournament  April 12 th : Varsity Minnesota Meltdown Tournament [Prom is this date as well, arrangements will be made for early games at the tournament]  April 21st: First game of the season!  May 1 st : Remainder of Booster Club fees due.

17 KEY DATES – MSHSL SEASON  May 22nd: Final regular season game.  May 26 th : Section 4 playoffs begin.  June: State Tournament  June: End of the year team banquet.  June: Potential Chicago Tournament  Look for Select/Elite Summer Team tryouts [Loons, Elite, Team MN, etc]  All information and dates will be available on royalslacrosse.com
