2 EASTER In Italy, but especially in south of Italy, the traditions are deeply felt by the local population. During the Easter season, people welcome the festivity in different ways. In fact, for this special occasion they celebrate rites, but also prepare special dishes for the occasion.

This is covered in white frosting upon which are perched small eggs in chocolate or with simple boiled eggs. It can take many forms, but is often round or rectangular. The preparation and baking of scarcelle takes place during Holy Week. Chocolate eggs Lamb

4 The dove Is an Easter cake that is prepared as panettone but has the shape of a dove Bagels egg They are typical sweets in Puglia, which are prepared with the addition of eggs, similar in appearance to the simple bagels, but of different sizes. Not only the food characterizes southern Italy but there are many traditions in which people express their devotion to the resurrection of Christ, one of these are the processions.

5 To commemorate the death of Jesus Christ, Catholic citizens organize a procession through the main streets of the city, praying Jesus and remembering his death, carrying the symbols of Easter. In Andria, for example, they also honor the Holy Thorn, a relic belonging to the crown worn by Jesus during his crucifixion, which is paraded along with the other statues in the procession. In contrast to the days before the holiday, on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday people gather with their friends and family to celebrate "Pasquetta" which is nothing more than a kind of outdoor picnic where you eat. It takes its name from the fact that on this day we remember the meeting of the angel with the women who came to the tomb.
