5 Year 11 Currently, your son / daughter is: Preparing for their Literature Unit 1 paper Recapping skills for their English Language exam (1 lesson a week this half term)

18 What will they be assessed on? Separate science - Three exam papers all 1 hour long Science and Additional Science - Two exam papers both 1 hour 30 minutes long Linked to specific unit content Lists supplied to all students breaking down topics and skills Specifications available on Academy and AQA website

19 What will we do? The Science department will provide the following: High impact lessons and homework activities Access to online textbooks and revision support Mentoring to support individual needs and requirements Small group revision-focus before each exam Drop in clinic every Monday night after school Pre-exam booster sessions Lunch time intervention slots

20 How can you help? We would like you to support us by: Ensuring attendance is as near to 100% as possible Emphasising the importance of achieving the standard required Encouraging your child to participate in any revision sessions offered Supporting your child to complete all homework tasks Encouraging students to catch up missed work and read around the topics Informing the school immediately of any issues or problems that we should be aware of.

26 How can you help? We would like you to support us by: Ensuring attendance is as near to 100% as possible; Emphasising the importance of improvement; Encouraging your child to participate in all revision sessions offered; Supporting your child to complete all homework tasks set; Sitting with them when they are working on their maths (you don’t have to teach them!) Maintaining a positive attitude towards maths!
