4 Aims 1.To deliver real life examples of successful multi- agency information sharing and working. 2.To develop a framework which provides a solution for multi-agency information sharing. –meets national standards and protocols (information sharing, data protection and technical) –vendor neutral –enables implementation of local policy and change management

5 National eGov Project, sponsored by the ODPM £7.1m project, £6m ODPM funding, £1m+ Local Authority Contributions 8 work strands. Work led by Local Authorities with Newcastle University, Health, Education, Police, Technical and other partners 18 month programme, ends 31 st October 2004

23 ISA: Time/Capacity Gross Benefits Time to identify agencies who know the child –Currently 30 mins to 2+ days –Does not happen or happens very infrequently –FAME system - 5 mins –Gross time saving/additional capacity = appx 150 mins or £65 per enquiry £400k –LA with 6,000 enquiries pa = £400k pa £260m –Nationally, just 1 enquiry for each of the 4m ‘vulnerable’ children = £260m pa

24 SAP: Time/Capacity Gross Benefits Average time currently taken for 4 agencies to visit and carry out individual assessments with an older adult = 6 hours Average time taken for 4 agencies/practitioners to carry out SAP common assessment = 3 hours –Gross time saving/additional capacity = appx. 180 mins or £78 per client >£900k –LA with 12,000 clients pa = >£900k pa £140m –Nationally, based on 1.8m clients pa = £140m pa
