Nitrogen makes proteins. So when you eat protein you are eating Nitrogen.

Nitrogen in air gets into the soil through Nitrogen Fixing. Nitrogen Fixing bacteria in roots can change Nitrogen in the air into Nitrogen in the soil. Lightening can also fix Nitrogen.
