2. Lemm Procedures Turn off cell phones once you enter Lemm Remove hats Practice opening ziplock bags, milk, granola packages at home. (This helps them at lunch) Know how to use seat belt. (This expedites car rider lines) Know name, address, parent’s names, birthday, phone number.

3. Address and Phone Numbers Students need to know their address and phone number. Name, street address, city, state, zip code, and phone number.

4. Daily Schedule Attendance is very important! For every 4 th tardy conduct grade will be reduced. Tardy bell rings at 8:20, however, classwork begins at 8:00.

5. Daily Schedule Specials/Conference Period Mon., Tues., Thurs 8:30 – 9:15 Wed. 12:30 – 1:15 **Fridays - no conference period due to PLC

6. Lunch Cost: –See calendar that was sent home When lunch envelopes come home please send money with your child to replenish their account. You can also add money to lunch accounts online using www.paypams.com www.paypams.com

7. Behavior Plan Tickled Pink! - Positive behavior warrants a happy visit to the principal’s office or a trip to the treasure box. Tickets – Postive behavior may also earn your child tickets that they can use to buy treasures. Nurtured Heart Approach: 1. Lots of positive praises 2. Enforce rules strictly 3. Avoid giving energy to negativity Not following classroom/school procedures and homework requirements will result in their work habit grade being adjusted accordingly. *Wednesday folders will document behavior infractions.

9. Homework Students should read at least 15 minutes every night. Books can be read with someone or independently. Please sign agenda book. Spelling words are assigned on Mondays and tests are given on Fridays. STUDY! Math Fact Fluency will be given on Monday and needs to be returned on Fridays signed. Daily Math homework is due the following day unless otherwise noted

12. E-Instruction Some assignments/assessments will be administered using e-instruction. Grades are not recorded on paper. Please check Gradespeed regularly to see student grades. Math e-instruction grades will be recorded on paper only when computations are required.

13. What Does an End of the Year Second Grader Look Like? READING Reads on a level L-M book with a fluency rate of 90 wpm with comprehension Writes complete sentences using correct punctuation. Can write a meaningful story that has details and correct grammar. OTHER An eskimo

14. Basic MATH Skills Has addition and subtraction math facts MEMORIZED up to 18. Can add and subtract 2 digit numbers with regrouping. Can tell time using digital and analog clocks. Can count money using a variety of coins. Problem solving ***various other student expectations

17. Family Participation Please plan to get involved in our classroom this year! Studies show that students are much more successful when their families are involved with their teacher to create a team atmosphere! Volunteers must complete a background check!

18. Baby News! Mrs. English’s maternity leave begins September 20th. Olivia Claire English will be born September 20 th. Doris Stepanski, a certified teacher, will be filling the position. Has taught second grade in the past. Has already met the students.
