5 Vocabulary Annual: a plant living only one year or season. Perennial: having a life cycle lasting more than two years. Germinate: To begin to sprout or grow.

9 Gardens… Do food gardens consist of annuals or perennial plants? How do you know? Weeds:  A plant considered undesirable, unattractive, or troublesome, especially one growing where it is not wanted.  A plant not valued for its use or beauty.  Are most weeds annuals or perennials?

10 Fruits vs. Vegetables Common definition: fruit is soft and sweet, vegetables are hard and don’t taste as good. Scientific definition: fruits have seeds, vegetables do not.
