Welcome, Cougars! We’re excited to have you at Running Brushy Middle School Please look at this power point to see about processes and procedures for parents and students. Some things are different from last year.

Our front and back doors will not open until 8:15 in the morning. Please plan accordingly. Our cafeteria doors are no longer an entrance. Students may be dropped off at the cafeteria, but must walk to the back doors. This ensures safer student foot traffic in the building.

Drop off and Pick Up Drop off and pick in the front of the building: -You may idle along the two front driveway curbs. The center “lane” is for driving. Parents may also drop off and pick up in the first aisle of the parking lot. Please communicate with your child so he/she can be picked up quickly to ensure smooth traffic flow

C Drivers may pick up and drop off at both curbs in front. Use center “lane” for driving away. The first aisle in the parking lot is also used for pickup and drop off.

On foot and on bikes Please do not allow your child to cut across any parking lots Please insist that your child always use the CROSSWALKS anywhere at Lakeline and Cougar Country Drive. Please remind your child that bikes are to be walked on the sidewalk anywhere on our campus.

Drop off and pick up at the cafeteria parking lot:- -You may pick up in the first parking lot aisle. The curb is for buses only. Cougar Country Drive can be VERY hectic: Please do not encourage your child to cross the middle of the street.

Cars dropping off and picking up by Cafeteria BusesBuses Student Xing

On foot and on bikes BACK OF BUILDING In morning, students coming from the Knowles area must walk along the fence line to get to the bike rack or back doors. There will be a teacher assisting students across the bus entrance/exit. In the afternoon, students heading back to the Knowles area will go the opposite way— Walking along the sidewalk by the building. There will be two teachers assisting students across both parking lot entrances and exits.

Morning “holding” areas after Monday, 8/24 at 8:15am: All 6 th and 7 th graders will go to the cafeteria All 8 th graders will go to their hallway Anyone can eat breakfast from 8:15 to 8:45 in the cafeteria

Devices & Cell phones Students may use cell phones/devices in the mornings in their holding areas and at lunch. All other times, the devices must be put away. At times, teachers will have students use devices during class time. Devices need to be put away while in the hallways. Earbuds need to be out of sight during class and in the hallways. Speaking of TECHNOLOGY, 6 th grade parents: your child will be issued a Lenovo laptop in December. All other grade levels will have to wait one more year. We will host three different trainings for parents to learn about digital citizenship, requirements, costs, insurance, etc. on the following dates:

6 th grade Parent training for the Lenovo laptop rollout. Choose one: Wednesday, October 21 st 6-7pm in Cafeteria Wednesday, November 4 th 6-7pm in Cafeteria Wednesday, December 9 th 6-7pm in Cafeteria Stay tuned for more information.
