The following institutions and military branches will have representatives here to meet with you either in the media center or in Lab 70 during homeroom time: Thursday, 11-29 - OSU Lima Stop by guidance to sign up or if you have any questions. Alyson Nye will be here this Thursday, Nov. 29 from 12:30-1:00 to talk to any interested juniors and seniors about The Ohio State University-both main campus and regional branches. Please sign up in Guidance if you would like to speak with her. 2.Attention Seniors: Wright State University will be holding an Engineering Night on December 4, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. for those students interested in pursuing an Engineering degree and career. Please stop by Guidance for more information. 3.The WL-S High School Guidance Office will host its annual Senior Financial Aid Night on Thursday, December 6 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the cafetorium. Mary Rashad from Wright State University’s Financial Aid Office will be here to explain the FAFSA process and the different types of aid. Please plan to attend. 4.Attention seniors: Are you interested in applying for the Franklin B. Walters Scholarship? If so, the application and required documents are due in the HS Guidance Office by January 22, 2013. Stop by HS Guidance to pick up an application. 5.High school students that are interested in participating in a 2013 summer program to get a head start on the path to college can stop in the guidance office to find out what opportunities are available for them at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 6.Group Pictures will be Thursday, November 29th starting in the morning. This will include all the clubs, organizations and class officers. Make sure you are here so you are not left out of the pictures in the yearbook. 7.Any high school student who is interested in Mock Trial can sign-up in the office. The Introductory Meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 29 th in Mr. Thomas’s room after school. If you have any questions, ask Sawyer Shafer or Trevor Davis. 8.ALL NHS Members and Candidates - help is still needed Sat Dec 8th for the Green Hills Christmas Dinner. Also, PTO has asked NHS to aid with this year's Elementary Santa Shop. Please see Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Roberts if you can miss a study hall to help in the shop Dec 3rd-7th. Also, on Sat Dec 1st they need help all day setting up in Mod 12. Please Volunteer! 9.The HS football team and cheerleaders will have their end of season awards ceremony Tuesday night, Nov. 27 th. Cheerleaders at 6:00 in home ec room and football players at 6:30 in the cafetorium. 10.Students who took the PLAN test will meet during first homeroom tomorrow for results interpretation. 11.If you are interested in being in Spanish Club, sign up in Room 54 by this Thursday. The first meeting will be this Thursday during homeroom for all members. 12.Would you like to help the American Red Cross support the residents of the East Coast as they recover from Hurricane Sandy and support our troops over the Holidays? If so, you should consider joining the American Red Cross Student Organization here at WLS. An informational meeting will be held this Friday during homeroom. 13.High school yearbooks are on sale for $25 dollars until Christmas break. Just return the order form to Mr. Lynxwiler to preorder the 2013 book. After Christmas the price goes up. Also we still have a few copies of last year’s book for $30. Don’t regret it in ten years, get your memories in full color. 14.High school girls track and field conditioning starts Monday, December 3rd from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Conditioning will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please come prepared to go outside. 15.On Thursday, there will be a high school assembly from 2:10-2:39, sponsored by FCCLA. An officer from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be here to present a program called, “You are in Control”. This program will focus on safe driving tips for teens including winter driving, etc. 16.The JV Quick Recall team beat Northeastern 90-60 last night while the varsity lost a hard fought match when their 3rd round comeback fell short. The final score was 300-260. Tigers leading scorers for the night were Matt Kauffman and Logan Boggs. The next match will be next Monday Dec 3rd at home against Greeneview.
