HS Announcements: Monday, Dec. 10 th High School 1.Attention seniors: Are you interested in applying for the Franklin B. Walters All-Scholastic Award? If so, the application and required documents are due in the HS Guidance Office by January 22, 2013. Stop by HS Guidance to pick up an application. 2.Attention seniors – The Pioneer Electric Coop Scholarship is now available. Your parents need to be Pioneer Electric customers to qualify. First place scholarship amount is $2,000 and second place received $1,500. Please stop in the Guidance office for more information. 3.High school students that are interested in participating in a 2013 summer program to get a head start on the path to college can stop in the guidance office to find out what opportunities are available for them at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 4.Attention Freshmen – Class Ring Delivery will be this Friday, Dec. 14 th before school in the cafetorium. Freshmen should report directly to the cafetorium on Friday to pick up your class ring. Payments of cash or money oreder only will be accepted – no checks. 5.Attention Seniors – Jostens will be here Friday to take graduation orders. Friday will be your last day to order graduation supplies. Bring a $75 deposit and order form and see your Jostens representative in the cafetorium before school on Friday. Extra packets are available in the office. 6.A reminder to all New NHS Members – you have two service hours due today- Monday, Dec. 10 th. Current Senior NHS members will have a meeting on Tuesday in room 55 during homeroom. 7.High school yearbooks are on sale for $25 dollars until Christmas break. Just return the order form to Mr. Lynxwiler to preorder the 2013 book. After Christmas the price goes up. Also we still have a few copies of last year’s book for $30. Don’t regret it in ten years, get your memories in full color. 8.All Spanish Club members need to pay $10 dues by today - Monday, Dec. 10 th. Also, there will be a Spanish Club Fiesta de Navidad (Christmas Party) this Thursday from 3:00-5:00 in the Home Ec room. Sign up in Senorita Lenk’s room by the end of the day Tuesday if you plan to attend. 9.The next meeting of the Red Cross Club will be December 19 th. 10.So do you think you have TALENT? Sign up for the Talent Show in the High School Office by December 12th and get ready to show off your talents to your classmates. Auditions for the Talent Show will be on Thursday, December 13th from 3-5pm. Please come prepared to the audition with all that you will need for your act. Fill out the information sheet for Mr. Lamb after you sign up and return to him by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 12th. Good Luck! 11.Attention New York City Seniors – your next NYC Payment of $100 is due by Friday, Dec. 21 st to Mr. Cotrell or Mr. Lewis. Please turn payments in during homeroom. 12.HS Girls Soccer Conditioning – workouts this week will be after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you have any questions, see Mr. Cotrell. Athletics 1.The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Mechanicsburg Friday night by a score of 84-64. Max Bailey, Travis Mayse and Landon Hormann scored 15 each and Connor Woods and Grant Burden each scored 14. The JV team won 46-36. Austin Miller led the way with 14 and Brandon Adams scored 11. 2.The Varsity Wrestling team competed at the Northeastern Duals on Saturday. Damon Walters was 4-1, Trevor Anderson was 5-0, Josh Cordell was 2-3, Isaac Cheethum was 2-3, and Zach Henault recorded his first victory by Fall. 3.The Varsity Girls Basketball team lost to Greeneview Saturday night by a score of 57-37. Top scorers for WLS were Maria Daulton-11, Kaylin Frederick-7, Melany Ward-6, Taylor Day-6. The WLS JV team won by a score of 39-37. Lauren Godwin scored 11 and Mia Walters had 8.
