4 Syllabus for the course Behavior and Participation Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting young adults. They are to treat everyone with the same respect they want for themselves. There is no consuming of food or drink of any kind in this class. When entering the room, students are to start the warm-up that will be posted on the board. Participation will be worth 20% of the student’s total grade. Participation includes attempting to complete assigned work and asking questions. Students will be grades on effort not accuracy of their work. Warm ups will also be worth 15% of the student’s total grade. Again effort to complete the warm up will be the focus of grading not accuracy. Copying answer off the board, without attempting to do the work, does not count as effort.

5 Syllabus for the course Quizzes There will be a quiz the last day of each week, unless notified otherwise. This is to monitor where all the students are before we can move on to the next subject. By giving quizzes every week, I will be able to include less material, therefore making the quizzes easier. Quizzes will be worth 25% of the student’s total grade. All quizzes are an open note assessment, which means students may use their notebooks for help during the quizzes.

6 Syllabus for the course Homework Homework will be due last day of each week, unless notified otherwise. When the students walk into class on the first day of the week, they will receive a homework/class work assignment. This assignment must be brought to class every day and will be collected the last day of that week. Homework assignments count for 15% of the student’s total grade. No homework will be accepted late unless a previous arrangement was made with the teacher. If a student is absent, homework is due the first day of the students return to class. Test Tests will be given at the end of each quarter and they will include questions from quarters’ quizzes and homework assignments. Test will count for 25% of the student’s total grade.
