Traditional Kindergarten
Students are exposed to content standards
Mastery of content standards is expected
Program follows a modified curriculum that meets the academic and social emotional needs of young children
Program follows a curriculum dictated by a pacing guide
Students have more time to master content standards
Mastery of standards is supported and reinforced
Program is student centered, driven by individual student needs to ensure students develop individual assets
Program is teacher directed, driven by expectations to master content standards as well as differentiation for individual needs
Social emotional development is emphasized in order to help students develop prosocial skills

16. Cambrian TK 2014-2015 First Day of School
Arrival—Bring student directly to classroom
Dismissal—Wait outside gate near flagpole. Students will be brought to the flagpole by their teacher
On the first day of school, please bring the children directly to the classroom assigned.
At the 11:37 dismissal please wait outside the kindergarten gate by the flagpole at the front of the school. When your child’s teacher opens the door leading to the playground, then parents may come to the door to pick up their child. For children being dismissed at 12:37, children will be brought to the gate by the flagpole by the teacher.  Please do not come into the yard and look into classrooms as this is disruptive to children.
Kinder here starts the first day with the early/late.  Since I’m kinder, too, I’m guessing we should stick with their schedule. 
We want everyone to wait by the flagpole so as not to disturb any other classes.  We will open the door when we are ready for that group.
Healthy snacks
Materials:
Backpack (optional) Each child will receive a book bag.
Label all items including Jackets
