8. Travel speed -How fast the rod is moved along the base metal- Puddle should be two times the diameter of rod. 1” of bead should equal 1” of electrode.

9. Electrode Angle -Travel Angle =The angle of the electrode to the base metal in the direction of travel- should be 60’-80’F -Work Angle = The angle of the electrode to the weld.

16. Ground Clamp Connected to the work table or piece of metal to complete the electrical circuit.

17. Welding Rod The Electrode (6013 / 6011) Same metal as base metal. Consumed in the weld and becomes part of the bead; adds strength to the weld.
