Slide 4 Session Segments Presentation Cynthia will address will introduce new personnel subareas that were created in response to changes to the universitys 403(b) plan. She will also introduce a new personnel subarea for medical students in the School of Medicine. During Cynthias presentation, your phone will be muted. Slide 13 Who will be moved and whos staying? Compensation and departmental review conducted in March – May 2011 to determine who remains in old personnel subareas and who moves to new subareas. Questions related to any changes in personnel subarea should be referred to your department administrator. 13
Slide 14 Moving Existing Personnel and Updating Vacant Positions An automated program will be initiated by Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) to move applicable vacant and filled positions into the new personnel areas on May 27 th. The changes will be effective June 1, 2011 All filled and vacant TLC positions classified as faculty/dean/executives will be moved into the new personnel subareas using the same dates listed above. 14
Slide 15 Hiring with New Personnel Subareas Hired prior to June 1, 2011 Will be moved into new personnel subareas if applicable and will be grandfathered into JHU Retirement Plan B (6%/12% university contribution) Hired in June 2011 May initiate position create ISRs using the new personnel subareas or maintain existing positions if applicable on or after June 1, 2011 (any effective date) FT/PT hires/promotions into these new personnel subareas will also be grandfathered into JHU Retirement Plan B Hired on or after July 1, 2011 FT/PT hires/promotions in these new personnel subareas will be placed into JHU Retirement Plan A (4%/8% university contribution) Faculty/Deans who are TLCs Should all be hired in new personnel subareas 15
Slide 16 Personnel Subarea for Medical Students Personnel subarea U017 was created for graduate students in the School of Medicine who are enrolled in the medical degree program. Individuals hired into these personnel subareas require second approval by Cheryl Bryant in the School of Medicine Department of Student Affairs. 16
