Slide 2 Todays Topic In this Fast Facts session we will introduce you to the Sponsored Program Personnel Planning Template. We will show you how to navigate through this planning template and make planning adjustments for current personnel listed or add placeholder employees as needed.

Slide 11 Agenda Today we will cover how to navigate to… Sponsored Program Personnel Planning Template And conduct planning and forecasting for salary and fringe benefit related costs for a sponsored program for the current budget period or the total award.
Slide 12 PI Partners – Personnel Planning You must open one of the Sponsored Program Level Reports to navigate to the Planning Templates. To navigate to the Personnel Planning template, click the hyperlink titled Personnel Planning.
Slide 13 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Personnel Planning will allow users to conduct planning and forecasting on salary and fringe benefit related costs for a Sponsored Program for the current budget period or total award.
Slide 14 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Personnel Planning can be performed for the current budget period by dollars, percentage or by remaining award period by dollars.
Slide 15 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Personnel Planning can be performed for all employees listed on the template by clicking the Apply Sal Commitment – All button.
Slide 16 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Personnel Planning can be performed for only certain individuals as needed by selecting the rows to plan for and clicking the Apply Sal Commitment – Selected button.
Slide 17 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Personnel Planning can be used to add a new employee that has not yet been put on the payroll but that you know will be paid on the sponsored program in the future.

Slide 19 PI Partners – Personnel Planning New Placeholder Employee has been added based on criteria entered. Click the Close button to return to main Personnel Planning screen.
Slide 20 PI Partners – Personnel Planning New Placeholder Employee has been added to the planning tab Click the Save Data button to save the added employee information.
Slide 21 PI Partners – Personnel Planning The Change Employee button is a fast way to make changes to multiple months for an individual if the amounts are consistent. Click the Change Employee button to begin the process.
Slide 22 PI Partners – Personnel Planning The Change Employee process involves five steps: select the employee, select the date range, enter the new salary amount to plan for and selecting the Change Employee button to complete the process.
Slide 23 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Employee salary information has been updated for the months selected. Click the Close button to return to main Planning Screen.
Slide 24 PI Partners – Personnel Planning Employee salary information changed has been added to the template. Click the Save Data button to save the added employee information. Click one of the Fringe Benefits Calc buttons to update fringe benefits data. Click the Calculate F&A button to update F&A for all information. Click the Save Data button to save all information entered and calculated.
Slide 25 Conclusion In todays session, we covered how to navigate to the Personnel Planning template to: Apply Salary Commitments to All or Selected employees Add a new Placeholder Employee for planning purposes Change salary allocations for an individual for planning purposes Calculate fringe benefits and F&A And most of all, save your data so it will be reflected in other PI Partner Reports Just a reminder that this is strictly a planning template and any actual changes to salary allocations must be made by eForms.
