8 Announcing… The Read and Relax Club!  Starting soon, students can come to the library once a week during lunch and recess to read and relax. I will announce dates and times on the morning announcements.  What is allowed?  Checking out books, reading  Eating your lunch while reading/drawing  Listening to audio books  Working on homework and research  What isn’t allowed?  Conversation, sleeping, cell phones, etc.  Disrespectful behavior (a ONE STRIKE and you are out rule applies)  Using R&R as a punishment for behavior (ie, you’ve lost recess or are in buddy teacher).  Starting soon, students can come to the library once a week during lunch and recess to read and relax. 26 Use these buttons to scan the list. All information, except for the item’s full record can be viewed from this screen.

27 Suppose you are planning a thematic unit on insects and you want resources to go along with the unit. Use the subject search to find materials. Type in insects and click on the subject button.

28 OPAC will list every item the library has that uses insects as a subject heading. Highlight what you would like to see, and click select.

29 This is when your Bookbag comes in handy! Highlight an item and click on Add to Bookbag to start making a list of what you want to check out. Next, click on Bookbag to see & print your list!

31 As you get more comfortable using the OPAC, try out the series search, the power search, or the keyword search to add to the list of what OPAC can do for you!

32 Reminders Write your name in classroom library books. 24 hour notice for ALL requests (sometimes longer- see new schedule) Return class books BEFORE 9:00AM the day you have library otherwise I will be annoyed and act passive aggressive (or, just aggressive). Teachers return to the book return slot, too.
