Freeware and Shareware Two types of applications you can readily download are:  Freeware—free software  Shareware—trial-based software freeware A software application that you can download and share at no charge. shareware Software that is distributed free on a trial basis and may later be purchased. You may need to unzip files before they will synchronize with your PDA. You will need a program such as WinZip to unzip files.

9 Glencoe Digital Communication Tools Additional Features of Digital Tools 8 8 pg. 235-237 8.3 Synchronize Documents with a PDA Synchronizing Microsoft Office Documents You can synchronize many documents to your PDA, including those created in:  Microsoft Word  Microsoft Excel  Microsoft PowerPoint In order to download Microsoft Office documents, you need a PDA with operating systems such as:  Microsoft Windows CE  Palm OS  Special programs such as Documents To Go PDA Journal Your PDA can be used to record your thoughts, as you would with a personal journal. Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can be shown directly from a PDA that has special presentation software installed. The PDA can be directly connected to an LCD projector to show the presentation.
