2 Congressional Visits Day 2015 March 11, 2015 – One Day Format Registration to open at www.aiaa.org/events or www.aiaa.org/cvd first week of September.www.aiaa.org/events www.aiaa.org/cvd Reinstating Congressional Reception  Seeking corporate sponsors  Off campus in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC. Travel Subsidies will be maintained. Training teleconference seminars will resume after the Board of Directors approve the key issues. 2 AGENDA 2

3 Key Issues Timeline- 2015 April/May 2014 o PPC solicits on Strategic Issues from TAC, Regions, Sections o TAC seeks inputs from TCs and PCs o TCs/PCs submit summary of supporting input to TAC July 2014 o TAC Directors review summary and vet input o TAC forwards screened input to PPC and appropriate Subcommittees August 2014 o PPC subcommittees begin vetting of input received o PPC contacts TAC authors for supporting documentations September 2014 o PPC subcommittees formalize Key Issues o PPC approves selected issues October 2014 o Authors, supported by PPC and TAC, write formal issue statements November 2014 o PPC subcommittees and TAC liaisons approve formal issues o Any revisions worked with authors o PPC submit draft issues to ASEB for review and input. o Draft Information Papers for selected issues December 2014 o PPC-approved issues sent to Board of Directors January 2015 o Board votes on key issues at ASM Board meeting o Key issues revised as needed o Information papers finalized February 2015 o Key issues and info papers sent to printer mid-month AGENDA 3A

9 PPC State Outreach Goals Hold visible/coordinated AIAA activities tailored to each state that address topics of local importance  Re-identify top-priority state-level issues annually  Assess these issues, assimilating established AIAA positions when applicable  Perform targeted dissemination of issue assessments  Field information and policy position inquiries on a timely basis  Achieve local AIAA member awareness regarding top-priority issues Leverage AIAA member presence Engage with elected officials regarding top-priority issues  Address these issues in forums and during one-on-one interactions  Collaborate with other Aerospace-related organizations on policy activity in specific states when interests are in common and proposed engagement methods are compatible Enable use of state-level programs as a membership recruiting tool AGENDA 7B

10 Current State Activity Planning California Aerospace Week Planning Committee will hold its first planning call next week (Tuesday, 12 August) Florida, Georgia, and Virginia Aerospace Day Planning Committees  Florida and Virginia resume in October.  Georgia- First week of February  Dates to be determined- February 2015 timeframe  Potential to work with Space Florida on MRO summit in Tallahassee in April 2015  Georgia Aerospace Symposium in November 2014 Engaging with Hawaii Office of Aerospace Development (Office of the Governor) and with the Aerospace States Association for activity in Hawaii (9-13 November) AGENDA 7B

11 New Business Changes to Staff  Steve Howell is departing as of 22 August.  Senior staff are currently discussing the future scope of the position including how the Public Policy Committee is liaised.  Duane Hyland will continue in his current role as the Grassroots Activities Coordinator. 11 AGENDA 9
