4 During class... I will act somewhat like a “referee.” We will use the “PIRATE CLAP.” Please stop and listen.

5 School is your JOB. Be on time. Give your best effort. Goals : good grades, high school, college, a job when you’re 16 & older, and a nice home & a vehicle.

8 “What do I do next?” (Those who finish before others in the class.) 1.Complete any unfinished work. 2.Read a book. 3.Study vocabulary, longitude/latitude, biography cards.

9 Procedure “pro” – a prefix meaning “moving forward” Pro athletes have moved forward or past college – gone beyond. “proceed” – means “to advance” The word “procedure” is a noun (a thing). It is a particular course of action or way of doing something.

10 Entering the Room Firmly shake my hand, looking me in the eyes. Body language is extremely important! Plus, we each need to know how we’re doing each day. We all have bad days. How can we help each other?

18 Consequences “con” – a prefix meaning “to know” (e.g. confidence) or “in opposition” (e.g. conflict) “sequence” – a continuous or connected series If you don’t proceed (follow the course of action), then what happens as a result? You are in 6 th grade, now. You know what happens when you don’t follow the right sequence/course of action.
