32 Students, Parent/Guardians, Faculty (licensed teacher), staff members, and community members are NOT in favor of the Marshall Public Schools starting before Labor Day Fifty-two percent of respondents feel that each school district should set their own academic calendars Forty-three percent of respondents feel that the five development days for teachers will NOT improve test scores for the school districts involved

33 Key Findings Results regarding breaks and vacation perceptions were highly positive, except for respondents being ready to go back to school before Labor Day Students agree that the flexible learning year positively impacts extracurricular activities Licensed Teachers disagree that the flexible learning year positively impacts students’ extracurricular activities

34 Key Findings 64% stated they don’t like the concept of having homework or projects over breaks 55% stated the flexible learning year created a less stressful Winter Break 31% of respondents felt that students and teachers are ready to go back to school before Labor Day
