THE HOOK UP: Refer clients to helpful resources

FINANCIAL AID If they don’t have their textbooks with them, ask if they need a book loan. Those are available from this office. If they have a debt from last semester, there is a way to pay it out over time. They can talk about that too at this office. BASEMENT, AUSTIN BLD

COUNSELORS If the stress they face is resulting in loss of sleep, an inability to concentrate, an on-going depression—then tell them to run on over to make an appointment with an SFA Counselor! These folks are trained to help us find a way to cope with stress so that we can study better. 3 rd FLOOR, RUSK BLD

ACADEMIC ADVISOR When clients say they are fretting over whether to drop a class or not, or whether to change or major, or what math they should be taking, etc., send them to their academic advisor. Who is their academic advisor? Search for “majors” on sfasu.edu, click on the student’s major, find a phone number, and ask. Click and find phone number

THE PROFESSOR The Professor is the #1 defense against failure. We are #2! Get them in to see their professor during office hours. Students can do all sorts of good things to help their grades but if they avoid their professors, they miss out on the best help possible! Look at syllabus to find location
