Rhyming helps teach both the sound and letter patterns necessary for reading and spelling. “Kids who can’t rhyme, perceive or manipulate sounds within words usually have later trouble with reading.” ~ Richard Selznick

9 EARLY CHILDHOOD CIA DEPARTMENT What is a rhyme? A rhyme is a repetition of sounds in two or more words, more often at the end of lines in poems and songs.
