 Welcome to SLIP 2.0, the Surplus Line Association of California’s (SLA) electronic filing system.  The SLIP system in California is geared towards assisting filers to be compliant with California rules and regulations, as well as promoting a paperless environment.  Users can follow the wizards to create a new transaction, link a renewal to a prior policy, link an endorsement to a parent policy, and select your saved transaction to include in a batch.  Users can answer tags, review their transaction history, pay their stamping fee invoices, and generate reports. 3 Introduction to SLIP

 Reduces tags and increases compliance with California surplus line filing regulations  Automatic creation of coversheets  For users uploading batches, there is no size limit to your PDF file  Ability to make online payments via credit card or ACH or autopay  Colored coded messaging: ◦ Green = Success (policy/batch successfully saved, submitted) Yellow = Warning (returned items, missing required documents) Red = Error (problem saving information, unexpected error, crash) Pink = Alert (possibility of getting a tag) 4 Key Advantages to Using SLIP

 An alert is a warning to the SLIP user about the possibility of a tag.  The pink message banner contains a numeric hyperlink that identifies the problem area.  The SLIP user can choose to ignore the alert and submit the batch to the SLA without correcting the identified problem area. 5 Alerts

 For first time SLIP users, contact the SLA for a temporary user name and password.  Master users must contact the SLA for a temporary name and password. ◦ Master users are responsible for creating the other users in their brokerage.  Users are required to change their password after the first login. 6 Getting Started JANE DOE ABC123

If your brokerage has multiple branches, the locations screen allows you to access the different branches without logging out. To change locations, you can either: 1. Enter values in one or more fields at the top of the grid, or 2. Click on the city location link under the Location column. 7 SLIP Users with Multiple Locations 1 2

Quick Info Provides transaction counts for policies, batches, and tags that the logged-in user created compared with other personnel in the brokerage, with quick hyperlinks to search results 4. SLIP Batches The SLIP Batches table provides a summary of batches not yet submitted to the SLA and the number of batches that the SLA has not yet processed. The Batch Exceptions provides the number of uploaded batches that did not get transmitted successfully to the SLA and batches returned or deleted by the SLA. 8 SLIP Homepage 1 2 3 4
