1 ASL Classroom Rules

2 ASL Classroom Rules prohibited in all ASL class sessions.
Voice-off Speaking or whisper are prohibited in all ASL class sessions. You may sign, gesture, act out, or write to other students or the instructor. Use ASL at all times.

3 ASL Classroom Rules Spoken English being used in their presence is a sign of disrespected for Deaf people including the instructor. ASL signing is allowed as it will help enrich your ASL experience and skills at the end of the academic year.

4 ASL Classroom Rules Consistent speaking or whispering to another classmate during a class session could impact student’s term grade.

5 ASL Classroom Rules Cell phones and pagers
Cell phones / pagers must be turned off or in a silent mode during all class sessions. If you use it during a class session, the instructor will take it away.

6 ASL Classroom Rules Sight line of the instructor or others
If you cannot see, you are responsible to move where you can. If you can’t move, ask other students to move out of your sight line.

7 ASL Classroom Rules Respect in the classroom It is very important that
you respect yourself, others, and all properties in the classroom.

8 ASL Classroom Rules Expectation for ASL Students (5 B’s): Be prepared.
Be on time. Be respectful. Be accountable. Be consistent.
