3 Rockwell Automation Uses industrial automation control and information solutions to give their customers a competitive advantage. Comprehensive portfolio of products, software and services: –Faster time to market –Lower total cost of ownership –Better asset management/optimization –Broader manufacturing business risk management

4 Companies They Have Serviced Their services provide help to all sorts of different types of companies such as: –Aerospace & Defense –Graphic Systems –Avionics controls and information systems –Automotive –Power Systems –Semiconductor Systems Worked along side with companies such as: –Boeing –Concerto Software –Baldor Electric Company

5 Future Goals Written in their recently published Corporate Responsibility Report 2007, they claim to want changes such as these with in the next year: –20,000 employees – more than half from outside the U.S. –Women, U.S. minorities and non-U.S. citizens, make up 19 percent of our corporate officers and 24 percent of our senior executives –Exceeded all corporate diversity goals, of U.S. college hires, 40 percent minority and 33 percent women

6 An Environmental Friendly Company Within the past year they have been able to: Recycle or reclaimed 80 percent of solid waste generation and reduce solid waste by 43 percent. Reduced indirect and direct carbon dioxide emissions resulting from energy consumption by 14 percent normalized to total sales Used 14 percent less electricity Used 7 percent less liquid fuels and natural gas

7 Jonathan Bissmeyer Graduate in May 2004 as an IE Works with Rockwell Automotive Title at Rockwell: Manufacturing Engineer II Worked for Rockwell ever since graduation, and will soon be exploring a new opportunity starting today (April 7, 2008).

8 Mercer Experience Had an internship with The Boeing Company Boeing did not lead to this job, however he worked with them for his senior design project Classes most useful: Statistical Process Control classes and DOE class Classes least useful: Mechanical classes

9 From Interview Do you use any process or control charts? “Yes I use them weekly to look for trends in yield losses and also in trying to find the capabilities of certain processes. They're use is essential in any manufacturing engineering position to be able to produce a consistent and quality product”

10 Other Facts About Rockwell They started at over 50K out of school so they were very competitive. Probably 90 % of my day is working with non- engineers. Six Sigma is the biggest trend in Industry right now, and he uses it daily, but it uses most of the same tools that are taught in the SPC and DOE classes.

11 Future for Jonathan “I see myself with an MBA and trying to work my way up into a role where I can use my experience to directly affect the performance of the company I am working for at the time.” He started a new job 7 April 2008 Just got married and is looking forward to starting a family.
