6 "changeover lines" were required in some manner for the 3rd abstracted display. They could be place in any manner, although most selected vertical directions. Wherever the form contour was intersected, that area was to differ from its neighbor by addition of texture or color change. Four color values were to be implemented and the diagram demonstrated how the many now- independent shapes could have painted/textured contrasts.
