1 Overview of Mobility Programmes and some organisations

2 A large part of the Life Long Learning (LLL) Programme consists of individual mobility actions The eldest (and also the most common amongst students) LLL programme is the Erasmus The most popular with Youth Organisations is the European Voluntary Service (EVS)

3 1 st LLL: Youth in Action Programme 1. European Voluntary Service – Action 2 – Young people – Non-formal learning setting – wide variety – 16 + 2. Job Shadowing – Action 4.3 – For Workers in an organisation – Work experience in another organisation – Short period – To bring back good practices in own organisation 3. New Possibility - Support to Youth Workers Mobility – Action4.3c – Kind of internship for youth workers – Up to 6 months Aim: to offer a European learning experience to young people

4 2 nd LLL:Comenius Aimed at Primary and secondary education For secondary school pupils – 3 – 10 months Opportunities for teachers or in-school youth workers to go to other schools in another EU country 3 – 10 months In-service trainings (like job-shadowing)

5 3 rd LLL:Erasmus Student studying abroad for a University semester Internship in an organisation or company Professionals working in higher education or enterprises Doing maximum 6 weeks staff mobility projects Other ‘sub-programmes’ have been created such as Erasmus Mundus for students to cross borders outside Europe

6 4 th LLL:Leonardo da Vinci Vocational training placements Young students carrying out training placements up to 9 months abroad Also possible for Employees up to 6 months Vocational and Training professionals up to 6 weeks abroad

7 5 th LLL:Grundtvig Programme for Adult Education Focusing on adult and senior citizens Senior Volunteering projects (SVP) = EVS (for senior citizens) Maximum 8 weeks active volunteering in another European country Staff involved in adult education maximum 10 months as an assistant at an adult education organisation in another European country Inservice training for adult education staff 6 weeks intensive training in the form of job shadowing

8 Other organisations A number of organisations offer their own mobility programmes, and these include: – The Alliance – Association of Voluntary Service Organisations – International Cultural Youth Exchange – European Federation of Intercultural Learning – Service Civil International – Youth Action for Peace – etc....
