1 THE HISTORY OF ANDREW JACKSON By: Joseph Browning

2 DATE OF BIRTH  Andrew Jackson was born on March 17,1767.

3 PLACE OF BIRTH HHe was born in a place between North Carolina and South Carolina.

4 JACKSONS CHILDHOOD Andrew Jacksons father died before he was born. He grew up poor with his mom and his two brothers. He also went to a local elementary school to get more learning.

5 JACKSON PERSONAL FACTS -Andrew Jacksons nickname was old hickory. -Jackson was a Democratic. -His boosters and the senate supported him.

6 THE ELECTION OF 1824 -John Adams won the election. - Adams got 84 electoral votes. -The north eastern part of the country voted for them.

7 THE ELECTION OF 1828 -Andrew Jackson won the election of 1828. -Jackson got 178 electoral votes in the election. -The western part voted for Jackson.

8 JACKSON AND A POLITICAL CONVENTION -After the election of 1828, political convention started to make sense to people. -After that there were only state conventions.

9 JACKSON ACTIVELY CAMPAIGNING - Jackson started many campaigns through his terms.

10 SPOILS SYSTEM The spoils system is a name given to the practice of hiring and firing federal workers.

11 KITCHEN CABINET After Jackson stopped cabinet meetings so he gathered his most trusted friends and started the kitchen cabinet.

12 VETO POWER USED BY A. JACKSON Jackson vetoed that would renew the second bank of the united states od America.

13 NULLIFICATION CRISIS This is when the south Carolina did not follow a law and when they cannot do that.

14 TRAIL OF TEARS The trail of tears is when the Natives were kicked out of their homes and were relocated to the west side of the Mississippi River and they had to walk and that was called the Trail of Tears.

15 TREATMENT OF CHEROKEE INDIANS The Cherokee Indians Disagreed with the Indian removal act and went to the the supreme court and told them. The court stated that the Cherokee Indians had the right to self government.

16 DISCRIMINATION BY JACKSON Andrew Jackson was discriminated because of being prejudice to African and Native and native Americans.

17 THE INDIAN REMOVAL ACT The Indian Removal Act is when the Americans made Indian tribes move west of the Mississippi River and Andrew Jackson Supported this Act.

18 CONCLUSION Overall Andrew Jackson was one of the Most important person in American history
