4 Food And Water  Aquatic Plants, grass  Herbivore  Grains, and squashes adults eat  Six to eight pounds of grass a day  Eat own scat  Chose food carefully  Near plenty of plants  Eat certain types of plants  Eat grass that have not been touch before  Eat scat for nutrients

5 Daily Behavior  Predator are jaguar, caiman, ocelot, eagle, anaconda  Twilight early in the morning  Rest during day  Often in the water  Young capybaras follow their mother  Stay in a group tell they mate  Have a nursery  Hide un water keeping young in middle  Spend most of the day welding in mud

6 F amily Structures  Their group leader is one male  Less watery places they join other small groups  Up to 100 pounds capybaras in one herd  5 months until born  crèches = family of young  Baby stay with mom for 1 year  Crepuscular twilight hours  Protect their young when attracted
